Christopher improved cardiovascular health, nervous system on carnivore diet

Hey everyone,

I would like to make this short and simple since this diet is just that. Cutting out all carbohydrates has been the most profound thing I have done for my health. It’s been a phenomenal 3 months. The benefits of this diet are undeniable and obvious. I have experienced optimal health for the first time after a long journey of seeking it. I now know what it feels like to be nourished for the first time in my 32 years of life, even after vegan, paleo, Atkins.

I have to ask, why has this been hidden for so long? As an ICU nurse I care for a never-ending line of heart attack and stroke patients. They just never stop coming and its all day everyday, and everywhere.

  • Neuro: My mood is stable and peaceful all day, my mind is easily focused. No more need for coffee or caffeine intake. No more energy crashes after meals. Nagging back pain from a pinched nerve is gone.
  • Cardiopulmonary: A significant improvement in both short and long distance exercises. Recovery during exercise is much faster.
  • Gut health: NO more gas, bloating, hemorrhoids and painful bowel movements. There is very little stool output every 3-4 days. I used to eat 2-3 bananas a day just to keep everything regular and soft.
  • Losing weight is effortless: I lost 17 pounds of water and fat in 2 weeks (from 205-188). I’m leaner than I ever been. I eat beef, eggs, and lard. I’ve never been more satisfied and still get excited for every meal. I’m never hungry between meals, I can easily work a 12 hour shift without food or snacks. I stopped taking all my supplements: vitamins/minerals, fish oil, protein powders, pre-workouts. I no longer feel like I’m missing out on anything in my diet anymore. Sugar cravings no longer exist. The idea of something sweet is now repulsive to me.
  • Genitourinary: Kidneys still work just fine. Libido healthier than ever.
  • Musculoskeletal: I can see my abs again with relatively little work. I used to work out twice a day! Crossfit has been my life. After adopting this diet I no longer feel the need to exercise as much. (this is a huge benefit for me). If I miss a few days or even a week in the gym, it’s no big deal. I just feel so good and my joints are happier for it. This is the lowest percentage of body fat I’ve ever experienced.

Lastly, we need to advocate this diet to our friends and family. I know the majority of people will scoff at the idea of an all meat diet, but statistically speaking these are the same people who will eventually be rotating through emergency rooms, ICU’s, nursing homes, and morgues.

Cut out all plant food. Stay away from coffee and tea. Eat meat and drink water. Do this for a month and you’ll better understand that humans evolved to eat this way for a reason.

Trevor improved fitness, mood, mental health, sex on carnivore diet

My name is Trevor, and I am 28 years old. I’ve been on a fitness and health roller coaster since I was in high school. I wrestled my entire life and have forever been under the impression that “carb loading” was the answer to size and strength. While it may be the quickest option, it sure does have its negatives.

About this time last year, I dealt with a bit of trauma that sent me into a 6 month downward spiral in regards to my mental and physical health. I was too depressed to eat. That was fine, because I didn’t really want to or have a reason to eat anyway. I was too depressed to talk to someone about it, also okay with the fact that I didn’t really want to do that either. What I couldn’t wrap my head around was that I didn’t even have the motivation to do the things I thought I couldn’t live without. It made absolutely no sense. One day my wife and I were cleaning our house and I believe we counted 24 Cottage Inn pizza boxes littered throughout our house. Keep in mind, this was just dinner over the course of a month or so. This is when I decided it was time for change. It started off with restricting carbs and following your generic, cookie cutter, high-fat ketogenic diet. I had a pretty quick turnaround in how I felt, but what I felt more was that counting all of these macro-nutrients was absolutely not for me. I found myself stressing to choke down more foods that I had to convince myself, or train myself to like in the first place. What in the hell was I doing? Once I first heard that there was a diet out there where people were tossing 3-4 ribeyes down their gullet each day and getting strong and lean, I was immediately sold. I obviously had questions since it’s the polar opposite from the carb heavy diet we’ve been conditioned to believe is healthy.

I listened to a few podcasts with Shawn Baker and Mark Bell talking about this diet and the hundreds of people that it’s already helped and I decided this was the move. I jumped in with both feet and instantly cut out the fluff and bought a few pounds of steak. I’ve been going strong at this for about two weeks and have already felt an increase in energy, a lift in my mood, a more dense body composition, performance in the bedroom, focus, and most importantly, my anxiety has almost completely subsided.

I have not been happier about a personal decision I’ve made in a long time. This is a very good thing, and I can already see that this is building a very strong community of MEATEATERS out there. I only hope that more people read some of these amazing stories and see the power of steak.

Jacob improved cardiovascular health on carnivore diet

My name is Jacob and I have had so many benefits from the carnivre diet. I really want to thank Dr. Baker for this. Keep up the good work, doc!

 

I got diagnosed

At 28, I was diagnosed with arthritis in my hands.

At 29, I had my first colonoscopy and diagnosis with diverticulitis.

At 32, I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.

 

Fear and debilitation followed

I powerlifted through my 20’s, but at 35, I couldn’t run or push hard for fear of a-fib. I got fat.  At 27, I had man boobs and love handles. I couldn’t walk flight of stairs and had very few solid bowel movements.

 

Then, grains and veggies left

I began cutting stuff out and realized that every time I cut a grain or veggie, I felt better and got leaner. Exactly 18 months later, I am approaching 37 years old and have 8.5% body fat and run 3.5 miles/day. I have lower blood pressure, higher good cholesterol. Zero a-fib issues. Zero diverticulitis issues. I require less sleep (4.5 hours), and I get more done during day. And, I’ll tell ya, the benefits in the bedroom with the wife are off the charts.

Steve improves libido and heals thyroid on a carnivore diet

Dr. Baker,

I participated in the 90 day nequalsmany carnivore experiment and want to share my experience. My 90 days ends today, but I will be continuing with this way of eating, because the results have been so positive. There were a number of positive changes I experienced, including ones that were unexpected. Here is a short list:

  • My body has been extremely responsive to training (I mostly do high intensity weight lifting), with minimal muscle soreness in the days after a workout. I’ve gained about 8-10 lbs of muscle mass in the last 3 months and I am much stronger. My motivation to work out is very high.
  • I have never had a problem with weight, but I used to be “skinny fat”. I had major addiction to breads, starches, and sugars that I suspect would have been very destructive to my health in the long run. I now have no desire for these types of foods and my relationship with food is completely different. I usually have a couple of large meals a day, I never get “hangry”. When I go out with friends or to parties, I am not compelled in the slightest to eat these foods.
  • I had previously had what I suspect were mild hypothyroid symptoms. Intolerant to cold, uncontrollable shivering, low energy levels at times. This winter the cold is not even a problem for me (I live in Michigan). I never feel tired at the end of a day anymore and I make plans to do things almost every night.
  • Better libido and sexual function. This year (just turned 30), I became concerned that my desire and performance were really decreasing fast. After about two months of carnivore, things began to really pick back up and seem to be getting better now with every passing week.
  • My physique, and I feel in some ways even my personality, have become more definitively masculine. I am more decisive, focused, and intense in my work and personal life. I suspect this is due to better hormonal health and higher testosterone.

I feel like this way of eating is conducive to the type of lifestyle I would like to live and the high level of function I want to get out of my body, both physically and mentally!
